Kim Choo Kueh Chang Pte. Ltd. is committed to preserving Singapore's unique Straits-born culture through promoting the Peranakan cuisine and fashion, which fosters a greater sense of belonging amongst Singaporeans.

Established since 1945, Kim Choo has been a mainstay in Singapore's diverse epicurean tapestry for over 60 years. With food and fashion very much intertwined, Kim Choo continues to honor its heritage and celebrate the Peranakan way of life to this day. Many covet its Nyonya rice dumplings for its rich taste, disguised by the effervescent fragrance of pandan leaves. Its food and lifestyle boutique gallery offers a vibrant showcase of intricately woven Nyonya Kebayas and beaded shoes. In addition, its food sampling and demonstrations leave visitors with a memorable cultural experience that is nostalgic with tinge of modernity.

Having close collaborations with various local ministries, Kim Choo is privileged to represent Singapore on the international arena, and has since showcased Singapore's unique Peranakan culture to Taiwan, Japan, and the United States of America. Again, Kim Choo is deeply honored to be invited to exhibit its latest Kebaya collection, featuring Singapore's kebaya designer Raymond Wong (Rumah Kim Choo), in Russia's Singapore Night in Moscow 2011 Fashion Show.

In preparation for the Singapore Night in Moscow 2011, Raymond Wong will showcase his newest works, which provide a modern interpretation of the traditional kebaya. His contemporary designs seek to depict how the traditional kebaya remains relevant in today's fashion industry. To deepen our understanding and appreciation for the Peranakan fashion, Kim Choo hopes to offer a guide alongside a presentation on how the Peranakan beaded shoes are intricately fashioned. It is our hope that through this cultural showcase, our Russian counterparts will be piqued by a Peranakan culture that is uniquely Singapore.

Lastly, we will like to thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as the Singapore Tourism Board for giving us the opportunity to represent Singapore in promoting our Straits-born culture in Russia.
